James is physics student in Stony brook University class of 2020. As a child, James' hobby was in computers. He learned programming at a young age which lead to interests in OSINT, Cyber Security and electronics. His interests migrated across multiple computing platforms providing him the skills required in the tabs4covid efforts.
James is no stranger to charitable endeavors. While growing up, James was an integral part of his family's organization and support of events for veterans and other families affected by cancer and illness. James now continues down that path with his own project, tabs4covid.
Tabs4covid came about through friendships created with the nurses and other hospital personnel at St. Catherines hospital during a family illness. Now, with the Covid19 pandemic, our nurses have been put on the front line with many new challenges, one of which is witnessing patients suffer alone without contact with family.
James has decided to help the nurses and patients by connecting them with family while eliminating the risk and challenges associated with quarantine. Tabs4covid allows patients to video chat with family thru the use of donated tablets assuring that, even in the final days, connections are not lost.
